Wednesday, 19 April 2023 – The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC), Departments and Agencies of the Authority Under It held Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony today at the Surau of Brunei International Airport (LTAB). This year’s Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony was organised by the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD).

Present at the ceremony was Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, the Minister of Transport and Infocommunications.

The ceremony began with the perform of Zuhor prayer in congregation and continued with the recitation of takhtim and prayer of khatam al-Quran led by Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohd. Ashraf bin Haji Bujang, the Imam of the Surau of Brunei International Airport.

Rabu, 19 April 2023 – Kementerian Pengangkutan dan Infokomunikasi (MTIC), Jabatan-Jabatan dan Pihak-Pihak Berkuasa Di Bawahnya telah mengadakan Majlis Khatam Al-Quran pada hari ini bertempat di Surau Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Brunei (LTAB). Majlis Khatam Al-Quran pada tahun ini dikelolakan oleh Jabatan Kajicuaca Brunei Darussalam (BDMD).

Hadir di majlis ini ialah Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Menteri Pengangkutan dan Infokomunikasi.

Majlis dimulakan dengan menunaikan solat fardhu Zuhor berjemaah dan seterusnya diikuti dengan bacaan Takhtim dan doa khatam Al-Quran yang dipimpin oleh Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohd. Ashraf bin Haji Bujang, Imam Surau Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Brunei.

Sejak beberapa hari kebelakangan, negara telah mengalami keadaan cuaca cerah dan panas pada waktu siang dengan hujan berasingan berlaku di kawasan pesisiran sekitar waktu tengahari. Brunei Darussalam has entered the inter-monsoon period which is the transition period after the Northeast Monsoon and before entering the Southwest Monsoon. The inter-monsoon period is expected to last until the end of May.

During this period, the absence of prevailing monsoonal wind flow has allowed local wind effects to play an important role in governing our daily weather. Based on our climatological records, the frequency of thunderstorms occurrences is high during the inter-monsoon period in comparison to the other months.
