Wednesday, 19 April 2023 – The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC), Departments and Agencies of the Authority Under It held Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony today at the Surau of Brunei International Airport (LTAB). This year’s Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony was organised by the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD).

Present at the ceremony was Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, the Minister of Transport and Infocommunications.

The ceremony began with the perform of Zuhor prayer in congregation and continued with the recitation of takhtim and prayer of khatam al-Quran led by Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohd. Ashraf bin Haji Bujang, the Imam of the Surau of Brunei International Airport.

The ceremony was also continued with the presentation of certificates of participation by Yang Berhormat Minister of Transport and Infocommunications to the participants of workshops organised by the Surau of Brunei International Airport, which was held in this month of Ramadhan.

This religious ceremony of Khatam Al-Quran is held annually, aiming to take opportunity to earn multiple rewards from Allah SWT in lighting up the blessed month of Ramadhan with the recitation of the holy verses of the Al-Quran.

Also present were Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, the Permenant Secretary Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, Yang Mulia Awang Haji Hairul Mohd Daud bin Haji Abdul Karim, the Deputy Permenant Secretary (Infocommunications), Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohammad Salihin bin Haji Aspar, the Deputy Permenant Secretary (Transport), Chief Executives, Heads of Departments, Senior Officers, Officers and Staff of the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, Departments and Agencies of the Authority Under It.
