1. General Weather Situation
Negara Brunei Darussalam is currently at the end of the second phase of the Northeast Monsoon. Normally during this period, the atmospheric condition tends to be more stable with reduced rainfall activities.

Since the 21st of March, Negara Brunei Darussalam has been experiencing Excessive Hot Weather (EHW) or commonly known as heatwave event during the day. The daily maximum temperatures recorded in several areas of the country have reached at least 35°C consecutively over the past 3 days.

Today, Sunday, 24th March 2024, 7 areas have recorded excessive hot weather, namely Labi, Batang Duri, Bangar, Lekiun, Lumapas, Bandar Seri Begawan, and Anggerek Desa, whereas another 5 areas have recorded unusual hot weather, including University of Brunei Darussalam, Pekan Tutong, Sinaut, Benutan, and Brunei International Airport.

This condition is also due to the reduced rainfall activities, as the recorded rainfall amount at the Meteorological Observation Station at the Brunei International Airport for the month of March 2024 is only 5.6 mm, which is far below normal value of 143.4 mm.

2. Brunei Darussalam Weather Forecast
For the final week of March, the weather in Negara Brunei Darussalam is still forecasted to be hot and dry, with reduced rainfall amount and activity. Daily maximum temperatures are expected to reach between 33°C and 36°C. Hazy conditions are also expected to occur.
