WEATHER SITUATION UPDATE FOR BRUNEI DARUSSALAM 24 APRIL 2023

General Situation:
Brunei Darussalam is currently in the inter-monsoon period, where local wind effects play an important role in governing our daily weather.
For the past few days, our country has been experiencing fair and hot weather during the day with isolated coastal showers occurring around midday. Whereas in the afternoon, isolated showers or thundershowers also occurred over inland areas and spread to few coastal and sea areas later at night.
Based on our climatological records, the average maximum temperature for Brunei Darussalam is 32.7°C for the month of April. As of now, the Brunei International Airport Meteorological Observation Station, Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department had recorded the maximum temperature on the 24th April 2023, which is 36.4°C.
Brunei Darussalam Weather Situation:
Weather condition over Brunei Darussalam over the next few days will be fair and hot where the temperature is forecasted to be between 32 oC to 35 oC during the day. However, showers or thundershower are expected over inland areas in the afternoon and may spread towards coastal areas at night.

Members of the public are advised to take precautionary actions for this hot weather event which is still forecasted to happen. There is also risk of flash floods especially over inland areas and at low-lying and flood prone areas as well as near the river banks during continuous heavy rain and also during high tide.
