Brunei Darussalam Monsoon Situation
Brunei Darussalam is still in the Northeast Monsoon season where active weather condition usually occurs in the afternoon and at night until early morning.
Our country is transitioning to Intermonsoon season starting April. During this Intermonsoon season, the weather condition in our country is generally sunny during the day, while thunderstorms potentially occur over the inland areas in the afternoon and spreading towards the coastal and sea areas of the country at night. Thunderstorm events, can be heavy and gusty at times and there is risk of flash floods or flooding during the upcoming Intermonsoon season.
Brunei Darussalam Weather Situation
Active weather condition is forecasted starting tomorrow, 18 March 2022 until 21 March 2022 due to active development of rain clouds over our country. Occasional showers and thundershowers are expected, with wind gust up to 45 km/h during or near heavy showers or thundershowers.
Over Brunei waters, sea state is generally slight, below 1.0 m.
Our Advice:
Members of the public are advised to take precautionary actions with respect to the forecasted active weather condition. There is risk of flash floods especially at low-lying and flood prone areas as well as near the river banks during continuous heavy rain that may last for more than 1 hour and also during high tide. Risk of landslide and falling trees are also possible during heavy showers and gusty condition.
Public, road users and fishermen are advised to always be up to date with the latest weather forecast, advisory and warning issued by Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department, and to take necessary actions to ensure safety.
