WEATHER SITUATION UPDATE FOR BRUNEI DARUSSALAM 26th OCTOBER 2020

General Situation:
As of 5.00 am local time today, Typhoon ‘Molave’ is observed over the Philipines (13.2°N 121.3°E), at approximately 1,333 km away from Brunei Darussalam. Typhoon ‘Molave’ is expected to continue moving Northwest-wards, further away from our country.

Brunei Darussalam Weather Situation For The Next Few Days:
This Typhoon is expected to indirectly influence our weather situation causing unsettled weather conditions with occasional gusty and heavy showers. Wind of up to 50 km/h is expected during heavy and gusty showers.

Meanwhile, sea state over Brunei waters is Moderate to Rough, reaching up to 2.5 meters.

Our Advice:
Members of the public are advised to take note of the risk of flash floods especially at low lying and flood prone areas during heavy showers or thundershowers as well as the risk of falling trees during gusty condition.

Public, road users and fisherman are advised to always be up to date with the latest weather forecast, advisory and warning issued by Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department, and to take precaution and any necessary actions to ensure safety.

Our department shall continue to monitor the weather conditions and will issue appropriate weather advisory or warnings if and when necessary.
