Brunei Weather Situation

Movement of Tropical Storm 'KAMMURI’ is expected to still influence the weather condition of our country until end of this week. Gusty showers and thundershowers crossing Brunei Waters are expected, and occasionally will affect the land areas on Friday and Saturday. Sea condition may increase to rough state up to 3.0 meters with wind speed of 40-50 km/h during showers.

Our Advice

During this active weather, it is important for the general public to take note of the risk of flooding or flash floods especially at low-lying and flood prone areas. The risk of landslides will also be high especially when heavy rainfall occurs continuously for more than 2 hours. There is also a risk of severe flooding during the event of very heavy rain coinciding with high tide. Strong winds and rough sea conditions are dangerous especially to all small crafts and sea recreational activities and sports.

In light of this, members of the general public, road users and fishermen are advised to always be up to date with the latest weather forecast, advisory and warning issued by Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department, and to take precaution and any necessary actions to ensure safety.

The Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department would like to remind the general public not to disseminate unverified weather information through social media as this may cause unnecessary panic and restlessness to the general public. We will continue to monitor the weather conditions and will issue weather advisory or warnings if necessary.
